Acceptable Use and Disclaimers

Cedar Mesa Ranches

Disclaimers

These are a product of the webmaster at this point and have not been reviewed or approved by the CMRHOA Board of Directors. Most of this information can also be found in appropriate places throughout the website. Any feedback is welcome. Some of this is out of date now. The username and password have been removed from the site so everything is now public. Hopefully the disclaimers will be reviewed and updated in the next couple of months.

Times, dates, and locations of meetings and events are subject to change. It is not always possible to update changing information or incorporate last-minute changes to schedules.

Any server downtimes and security interruptions, whether to our website, e-mail, bulletin board, or any other feature on this site, is beyond our control and we cannot be held responsible. It is a paid service provided by ipowerweb.com.

We will not post members contact information in the public portion of the website without their express permission.

We can not be responsible for the postings of individual members. Postings deemed offensive or otherwise inappropriate will be removed as soon as possible. Such postings can only be removed if they are brought to the attention of the webmaster.

The views and opinions expressed on the Neighbor Helping Neighbor page are those of individual residents and not necessarily those of the HOA Board of Directors or the association as a whole. The contractor / subcontractor lists simply reflect the experiences as expressed by our residents and are not meant to be an all-inclusive list.

Web links to outside resources are not affliated with the Cedar Mesa Ranches Home Owners Association. These links and related information are provided as a service to our membership and the community and should not be taken as recommendations or advice by the Board of Directors or the association as a whole. The resources page is not meant to be all-inclusive, but rather is a convenient and list of local resources.

Personal e-mail accounts are a bonus feature made available because of the availability of surplus internet capacity. It is secondary to all other features and could be subject to restrictions in size and use -- or even the elimination of accounts -- if more resources are required for other features. If this becomes necessary, as much advanced notice will be given as possible.

Acceptable Use

The intent of the acceptable use guidelines are to promote a family-friendly environment, and one of community and cooperation. It is not to hinder opposing views or block free speech. Severe violations could result in the suspension or removal of access to the "members only" section. Violations could be deemed severe in instances involving pornography, repeated profanity, questionable taste, or sharing other members' information.

The webmaster will not act as a police officer or judge. The webmaster will only act on violations of the guidelines if another member e-mails a complaint. The webmaster will then take the complaint to the Board, which will decide on a course of action. The only exception are posts that remain on public display that are in gross violation of the guidelines, such as pornography or vulgar language. The webmaster will remove these posts as soon as possible to preserve the integrity of the forum that they are are in and to keep the website within the acceptable use policies of ipowerweb.com.

E-mail is not monitored. E-mail communication should be compliant with the acceptable use guidelines. However, if a member finds another member's e-mail offensive, it should be handled individually.

In the event that a member uses any features for inappropriate activity, such as spamming, etc., the Board will take whatever action required by law or our webhost ipowerweb.com. The use of e-mail accounts for spaming will result in loss of e-mail priveledges. The HOA has a limited amount of resources for this website and can not tolerate abuses.

The intent of providing the bulletin board and chat room is to encourage a sense of community among all members, both residents and nonresidents. It is hoped that it will be a tool to give all members a voice, no matter where they live. It is to be a place of constructive discussion and suggestions.

Please use careful judgment in deciding if your issue is appropriate for this forum, or if a direct e-mail or phone call would be more appropriate. It is the opinion of the webmaster that online communictations can sometimes sound impersonal, nonconstructive, or even hostile. The consequences of one's actions might not be realized until we lose good and qualified people who may refuse to serve our community on the HOA board, or see the evidence of hurt feelings when we meet our neighbors face-to-face.

With the above in mind, the intent of the acceptable use guidelines are not to hinder ideas or block free speech. Rather, it is to help produce an environment to foster the above intents and hopes.

  • No profanity or questionable material -- this is a family oriented website.

  • Please attempt to word your criticism constructively. We need people to serve on the Board and in other positions, and not to decline when someone nominates them for a position.

  • Constructive criticism does not include threats or personal insults. Hurt feelings obviously do not encourage cooperation.

  • Always  be professional and respectful in your communication.
