E-mail Accounts
"yourname@cedarmesarancheshoa.org" email accounts are now available! At this time, there is no longer a limit to how many email addresses you can have per lot. This could change if demand increases but we do not forsee that happening.
Your e-mail address will not be immediately available. The webmaster must manually set them up after he receives the request form you fill out.
E-mail addresses can be requested by lot owners by clicking on this link and completing the form, or by clicking on the "Click here to setup or change email account" button above. This form can also be used to make changes to or close your account. The mailboxes have a 50 MB limit, unless you are setting up a forwarding account. Access can be made through webmail at this site or going directly to:
http://cedarmesarancheshoa.org/webmail
New!!!! The e-mail system is being upgraded. You can start using the new system now at: http://cedarmes.ipower.com:8080/webmail4/index.pl
Bookmark it so you do not have to keep entering this address in. The new system syncs with Outlook so you can keep all your Outlook information online. This will be a very useful feature if you are an Outlook user. The only catch at this point is you contacts and email do not move to the new system at this point. They are promising a migration tool that will do this for you soon. You can use both systems with your current email address at this point. So of the info on this page my be out of date if you start using the new system. We would recommend you start with the new system if you are starting with a new e-mail.
POP access can also be made through third party applications such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, or third party sites such as Yahoo! Email or mail2web.com. We can send a file with your setup confirmation that will automatically setup Outlook and Outlook Express to check your email. Just check the box in account setup form to request it. The file will come as an attachment. Download the attachment, open it, then click "yes" to allow the file to write to your register. Then all you have to do is start Outlook or Outlook Express and click "yes" to import the new account. Otherwise, to setup the programs manually, the server information you will need is:
POP: mail.cedarmesarancheshoa.org
SMTP: mail.cedarmesarancheshoa.org
Attachments are limited to 10MB/e-mail if you are sending / receiving through POP. Attachments are limited to 2MB/e-mail if you are sending/receiving through webmail. Our e-mail server does not have anti-virus software on it so, as with anything on the internet, you should have anti-virus software on your computer and keep your virus definitions up to date. You should always never open an attachment from someone you do not know or one that is suspicious even if you know the sender.
Everyone is encouraged to log into webmail at least once and fill in your "user profile." The information you provide here is available to every resident with an "yourname@cedarmesarancheshoa.org" e-mail address through the "global addressbook" in webmail. Webmail also has a personal addressbook, calendar, task list available for you to use.
Spam Filter:
A spam filter is available with your account. Unfortunately, it is not easy to configure and we have to make changes to it for you. If you choose to turn it on, it has two options. Either you can choose to have the spam mail flagged as being spam, or you can choose to have the server automatically deleted so you never see it. The problem with the second option is that it is possible that the server will delete e-mails that are not spam. However, ipowerweb states this does not happen very often. We would suggest you start your e-mail with either the spam filter turned off or just have it flag the spam to start out with. So far the e-mail accounts we have setup have received no spam. It is our experience that spammers target the big e-mail servers like AOL, Earthlink, Hotmail, and Yahoo. So we do not think spam will be a big problem if you are careful who you give your address to. You can make changes to the spam filter through the email request form.
We will also have an unlimited amount of fowarding e-mail accounts. These accounts do not hold e-mail.They simply forward messages to an existing account. These accounts are helpful for someone who wants to use an e-mail account provided by their ISP or another provider, but does not want to have to keep changing their e-mail address everytime they change their internet provider. It can also be useful for those who want e-mail addresses to use for places that might send them junk mail, so that the forwarding e-mail account can be easily disposed of if it starts receiving too much junk e-mail. These forwarding accounts could also be used by someone who wants a "yourname@cedarmesarancheshoa.org" e-mail address but does not want to check another box. Simply have the e-mail sent to your "yourname@cedarmesarancheshoa.org" address and forwarded to your existing address, and then just check your existing address for the messages sent to both addresses.

Webmaster E-mail: webmaster@cedarmesarancheshoa.org This e-mail address if for website issues only. If you wish to address other issues, please see the Member Directory for contact info to a board of director.
